Borås Golfklubb (Norra) is one of the most-played courses in Västra Götaland County on Hole19, and its 18 holes make clear why it draws a crowd. The course sits within mixed woodland and carries a parkland character throughout. Between 2008 and 2011 it underwent a thorough redesign by architects Peter Chamberlain and Karl-Oscar Seth, who shaped the layout to work with the natural landscape both visually and strategically. Greens and their surrounds are generously sized, creating a wide variety of approach situations. Drainage slopes around the putting surfaces demand accurate ball-striking — aggressive shots tend to run off the edges. A thoughtful balance between fairway and rough mowing adds a further layer of challenge without tipping the course into unfair territory.
