Black Desert Resort

Black Desert Resort is an 18-hole, par-72 layout stretching to 7,500 yards in Ivins, Utah, designed by Tom Weiskopf and routed through black lava fields, vermilion red cliffs, and ancient basalt rock formations. The terrain shapes several memorable holes. Hole 2 plays a 50-foot downhill tee shot of about 410 yards and shares a double green with Hole 8, set within a lava field. Hole 3 is a par three with a bunker in the middle of the green, drawn from Riviera's sixth. Hole 13 carries an elevated tee shot over a lake to a green atop a lava-surrounded knob, referencing Pebble Beach's 14th. The closing hole is a 570-yard dogleg-left par five with lava and bunkers shaping the fairway and a green modeled on Augusta's fifth. Golfweek ranks it the number-one course in Utah, 34th on its Top 100 Best Courses You Can Play in the U.S., and 96th on its Top 200 Modern Courses list.
