Description
Bide-A-Wee Golf Course in Portsmouth, Virginia traces its origins to the early 1950s, when PGA Professional and Virginia Sports Hall of Famer Chandler Harper conceived the layout. Following his appearance in the 1955 Ryder Cup, Harper retired from competitive play and engaged Fred Findlay to build the course. The original routing has been preserved, and the narrow greens that defined the earlier design remain a signature feature of the 18-hole layout. Off the course, the facilities include a 3,500 sq. ft. Pavilion, a clubhouse with a restaurant, cart storage, and a maintenance facility, along with a new entrance.
