Bar Run Golf

Bar Run Golf is an 18-hole course designed by Dan Hixson, set along the South Umpqua River in Roseburg, Oregon. Built on a reclaimed mining site, the layout benefits from an unusually wide canvas — no homes, a mix of large ponds, mature trees, and riverside holes at 8, 10, and 11. Hixson credits the land itself for shaping the design, noting that the terrain allowed for memorable, challenging golf alongside genuine width. The Guido family's vision for a full experience on and off the course added further creative fuel. A standout feature is the 9th hole, which pays tribute to the Hogan Bridge at Augusta National. A bridge that once served as a train trestle is prominently incorporated into the hole. Views throughout the round take in the South Umpqua River, the Callahan Mountains, and the dramatic pond-studded landscape that defines the property.
