Ballyhack Golf Club

Ballyhack Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 private course in Virginia, United States, stretching up to 7,294 yards and designed by Lester George. It opened in 2009 and is ranked #5 Best Course in Virginia and #210 Greatest Courses in America by Golf Digest (2025). The layout moves through the Blue Ridge Mountains with elevation changes of 50–70 feet, rugged terrain, and gouged-out bunkers across a links-style design. Hole 14 is home to a family of African Boer goats living near the green. Practice options include a facility with target practice and long drive games, a short game area, putting under the lights at the 18th, and custom short-game clinics with club and ball fittings available through golf staff. The 11,500-square-foot clubhouse features a main dining room seating 62 with southern views of the course and mountains, serving a plated Big Beef Experience dinner, Virginia BBQ dinner, and seasonal menus. A staff-attended bar sits at the 18th green, with bourbon or wine tasting by the fireplace and a 200-bottle glass-encased wine room. The Golf Shop carries the latest equipment and apparel.
