Description
Designed by Olin Dutra and Desmond Muirhead and opened in 1969, Avila Beach Golf Resort is an 18-hole, par-72 resort course in Avila Beach, California. The layout stretches to 6,500 yards across hilly terrain, moving through oak-lined valleys and alongside a tidal estuary. Water carries and multi-level greens add variety throughout the routing. A driving range is available for warm-up. Mulligan's Bar and Grill serves as the on-site neighborhood bar, and a Pro Shop is staffed on site.

Carson LandrethJuly 18, 2024It looks like the owner has given up on the course. Poor condition throughout. The only thing it has going for it is the location. Tee boxes are tore up, fairways are dead, tons of squirrel holes throughout, greens are meh, the bunkers look like they took sand from the beach and compacted it then let vegetation grow in them. All in all, probably the worst course on the central coast. The round was not worth what they charge.

Looks like course is need of repair in general. I enjoyed my game there all the same. I’m sure the pandemic long droughts and long wet winter have paid its toll. The staff where all fantastic helpful and kind. I would play again.
