Asami Golf Club

Asami Golf Club is a 27-hole hillside course in Mito, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan, that hosted the Japan PGA Tour in 1979. The layout is built across gentle rolling terrain, and fairways are largely flat apart from a few exceptions. Each nine opens with a downhill tee shot on the first hole, giving players an immediate read on the course's character. Ponds of varying sizes are distributed throughout the course, shaping both the scenery and the strategy. Depending on a player's distance off the tee, the ponds can be carried for a shortcut or played around conservatively — meaning every shot demands attention to both direction and distance at the same time.
