The opening hole at Apostle Highlands Golf Course sets the tone immediately: tee off over a replica of Lake Superior before the round unfolds across 18 holes of links-style terrain in Wisconsin, United States. Designed by Bill Korpela and opened in 1991, the public course plays between 5,127 and 6,332 yards at par 72. Forested canopy, tree-lined holes, and panoramic views of Lake Superior frame heavily contoured fairways and greens that produce uphill and side-hill lies throughout. Hole 12 adds further variety with an elevated tee and a double dog-leg guarded by hazards left and right. Practice options include a driving range with buckets of balls, plus a chipping and putting green located near the range and the first hole. The climate-controlled clubhouse includes a pro shop stocked with name-brand accessories and gift certificates, a bar serving liquors, beers, and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks, and a deck and patio overlooking the 9th green.
