Aoi Country Club is a 36-hole hillside course in Kota, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, featuring a layout rich in trees and moderate elevation changes that rewards thoughtful, strategic play. The course is built around two ponds. The front nine circles Tsukihoshi Pond, with holes 2, 4, 7, and 9 standing out as particularly demanding. The back nine wraps around Hiraiwa Pond and carries more up-and-down terrain than the front. The 18th hole closes the round with a left dogleg and out-of-bounds left — a dramatic finish. Each hole plays two separate bent-grass greens, and the active green changes the routing and playing angles enough that the course effectively offers the variety of 36 distinct layouts. Renovation of the 18th hole was completed in August 2016.
