Alexandra Golf Club offers a one-of-a-kind 18-hole layout on a public reserve in Alexandra, Victoria, built in and around the Alexandra Racing Club racetrack. The front nine runs largely around the outside of the track, though a couple of fairways cross over it — rails are removed wherever they intersect a fairway. The back nine plays mainly inside the racetrack, venturing out occasionally to gain extra length. One local rule worth knowing: if your ball strikes a rail, you replay the shot without penalty. Given the circumstances, that's usually the better option.
