Akagi Golf Club

Akagi Golf Club is a flat highland course set among the forests at the foot of Mount Akagi in Shibukawa, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. The layout spreads across even terrain across all 18 holes, with the design relying on water and trees to create strategic challenge throughout. On the front nine, four of the nine holes incorporate ponds to sharpen decision-making. The par-5 6th hole is a standout: a creek crosses in front of the tee before feeding into a pond along the right side, combining difficulty with visual appeal. The back nine shifts the challenge to pine trees scattered along the fairways, narrowing the ideal lines off the tee. Two short holes on the back nine feature ponds that extend right up to the green's edge, putting pressure on the mental side of the approach game.
