Abbey Springs Golf Course

Abbey Springs Golf Course sits in Fontana-on-Geneva Lake, Wisconsin, and brings a strong design pedigree to the area. The original 18-hole layout was created by Ken Killian and Dick Nugent in 1970, with a series of renovations carried out by Mike Schulz Golf Designs between 1988 and 2012 that shaped the course into its current form. The layout presents a varied challenge across its 65 acres of maintained turf, split between 20 acres of fairway and 45 acres of rough. Water comes into play on 6 of the 18 holes, and 25 sand bunkers are distributed throughout the course. Greens average 6,200 square feet — generous enough to reward accurate approaches — while tee boxes average 2,000 square feet. The course is kept by Director of Grounds Andy Kronwall and his team, including Superintendent Lee Suwalski and Equipment Manager Don Fort Jr., a group that has maintained the property since 2016.
