Pencil bags typically hold 6-8 clubs comfortably, though some can accommodate up to 12 clubs. They're ideal for par-3 courses or when practicing with a specific club selection. Not designed for carrying a full 14-club set.

Pencil bags are excellent for beginners learning with a half set. They're affordable, lightweight, and encourage club selection skills. However, consider stand bags once you progress to using a full set of clubs.

While possible, pencil bags aren't designed for golf trolleys. Their slim profile and light construction make them less stable on trolleys. They're best suited for carrying or resting on the ground.
